Knitting and Crochet Combo

I love to knit and crochet. They're my favourite crafts. It's really important to use good quality yarns and eye catching colour combinations. One of my missions is to go through each of my patterns and knit them up in fab colours combos. I've found these gorgeous knitted and crocheted finds on folksy in great colours - just hover your mouse over the picture to see the designer and click to go to their folksy shop (don't forget to hit the back button to come back to my blog):

Facebook

Well I've finally taken the plunge and added myself to facebook. I'm not 100% what I'm doing, it all seems a little complicated. For instance, I had to open a personal page before I could open a business page, so now I have two pages. My etsy shop automatically links any new listings to my personal page, which isn't great, and I can't seem to do things that other people do on their pages, like add my etsy shop to a separate page. Oh well, I suppose I'll get the hang of it in the end.

I'm hoping to use my facebook page to advertise my shops and hopefully increase sales. I'm having a think about where to go from here with my shops. I definitely need a lot more patterns to sell, so I need to write up those half written patterns and get them out there.

I have been receiving regular requests from Let's Get Crafting for pattern commissions, which is great, but I need to advertise myself more widely with other knitting and crochet mags, to see if they are interested in my patterns.

Lots to think about, and lots of opportunities just waiting to be grabbed. So I'm off to find them xx

Buttons and Bows

I love buttons and ribbon. They're essential to have around the house. I use ribbon all the time to wrap around presents - it's adds that special touch. I'm lucky to have Beresfords Ribbon Factory nearby by. Every now and again they have a public sale day and just like my yarn addiction, I always come back laden with bags of ribbon. I'm slowly working my way through it all!!

Buttons are another addiction of mine. I'm not sure what the attraction is with buttons, but my nan and my mum always had a button tin too. I used to love tipping them out and sorting them into colours. Now I have my very own button jar that my little boy loves playing with.

So my folksy friday theme this week is buttons and bows - here are my folksy fave's - just hover your mouse over the picture to see the designer and click to go to their folksy shop (don't forget to hit the back button to come back to my blog):

Eye-Eye It's Folksy Friday

Wow - I can't believe it's Friday again. The sun is shining and it's nice and warm. What more could we ask for!! I've picked up my new glasses today - phew that was expensive. Shouldn't have gone to spec savers!! I love my new glasses and especially my new free pair of prescription sunglasses. They're cool. I just need a nice glasses case for those as they came in a litle bag, which seems a little thin and I don't want them to get damaged. I'm adjusting nicely - I have varifocals so it can take a bit of time to get used to a new pair of glasses.

My folksy friday theme this week is eyes - here are my folksy fave's - just hover your mouse over the picture to see the designer and click to go to their folksy shop (don't forget to hit the back button to come back to my blog):
